About Our Esports Program
What is Esports?
Esports (also known as electronic sports) is an organized form of competitive tournaments with video games where players face off with teams or each other. Or most commonly, a multiplayer online video game competition. Gaming is popular with the younger generation and has changed from the traditional offline games we used to play. But Esports is a growing industry and we want to provide these opportunities to our students. There will be a dedicated coach and advisors to help with training and practice for the team. Some of the popular games that Confluence Preparatory Academy will have are League of Legends, Rocket League, and Overwatch.
Will gaming responsibility impact my child’s education?
By exposing our students to different opportunities, we want to expand their skills and gain real-life experience for future potential career aspirations.
Like other sports, gaming can be a platform to develop problem-solving, critical communication and teamwork, all of which are skills necessary to succeed in school, work and relationships. These necessary skills can build a strong community that demonstrates leadership, commitment, and create an engaged learning environment.
We want our parents to learn about the online gaming world while also understanding the world your children are so engaged in. We believe this will create a positive contribution to your child’s school experience without affecting their education or social life. At Confluence Preparatory Academy, we understand our parents’ concerns and child’s passions by creating responsible gamers with our Esports Program.
