A Note to Confluence Parents, Staff - April 26, 2017

Dear Parents and Staff,

To keep you informed, and to minimize misinformation, please take a moment to review the progress being made to restore technology to Confluence Charter Schools. The following note was shared with staff, and students were given copies to take home.

On Monday, April 24, staff and parents were notified of a technology breach affecting the computer network for Confluence Charter Schools.

Our information technology team has worked diligently to correct problems, and we’re able to give an update on what’s been accomplished:

  • Internet access has been restored at all campuses.
  • Phone service is restored at all Confluence campuses. Efforts are being made to restore phone service as quickly as possible for Grand Center Arts Academy. The phones are on a different server that was damaged.
  • Financial/payroll information was recovered. Payroll is processed for Friday, April 28. We do not expect any issues with direct deposits for this pay period.
  • Student tests for Missouri Assessment Program and End-of-Course are in progress.
  • There is still no evidence that student data or employee data was compromised. If we learn that personal information for students and staff was compromised, we’ll let you know, and we’ll provide advice for your next steps.
  • Efforts are being made to restore Microsoft Outlook as soon as possible. Staff does have access to the Google Drive and G-mail through confluenceacademy.org since it’s on a different server.

Again, we are working hard to correct the situation. We will keep our school community informed through staff memos, website posts, conversations, and, as necessary, autodial calls. You’re encouraged to monitor personal financial accounts and credit reports as a precaution.

On behalf of IT and Confluence Charter Schools, we appreciate your patience and understanding.
