Confluence is unique in that it operates two local education agencies – Confluence Academy and Grand Center Arts Academy – with two university sponsors, two charters and one non-profit board of directors.
At its July 19, 2016 meeting, the board was asked to give an update on the possible merger of Confluence and GCAA.
In short, the board recognizes there have been delays, but not for lack of effort on behalf of Confluence. The board explained that because of state laws, there are “very few options to realistically consider, given statutory issues.”
The board will continue to explore options, and will meet with parents and staff by November 1, 2016.
For background information about the possibility of a merger of the LEAs, please read the fact sheets published on the Confluence website.
