School Choice Week essay contest has winners from Confluence Academy-Old North

The last week in January is National School Choice Week. Across the country, schools and educational organizations celebrate the ability of parents and students to choose the best school for their needs, whether it’s a public school, private or parochial school, or a charter school.

Locally, the Children’s Education Alliance of Missouri and the Missouri Charter Public School Association held a celebration event on January 28, and two students from Confluence Academy-Old North were recognized for essays they wrote about school choice.

Raymond Moore, 7th grade, was selected as the third place winner in the CEAM contest. He was named one of the Top 3 finalists in early January. For his work, Raymond received a tablet, an Amazon gift card and a certificate of recognition.

Marcus Laney, 7th grade, was announced as one of the top 10 essayists in early January. For his achievement, he received a gift card and a certificate of recognition at the event.
