Letter to Confluence Academies Families and Staff regarding change to Academic Calendar

Good Morning Confluence Staff,

As we all know, the COVID pandemic has created challenges for our students, parents and guardians, and our educators. We take pride in meeting and responding to these challenges in an effective and thoughtful manner.

After discussions with our Network leaders about how to best serve students’ needs for instructional time, while also honoring our staff and family obligations, we wanted to share two dates we have changed to our academic calendar for Spring 2022. We recognize many families have plans, so we want to get this information to you as early as possible. Specifically, we are changing Tuesday, February 22, 2022, and Monday, April 18, 2022, to self-care days for our students and staff. There will be no classes or students in session on these two days.

Confluence Academies is committed to providing students with a quality educational experience and working to meet the needs of every student. By advocating for our students’ needs, we want to remind everyone that the decision to modify classes is never taken lightly. Our goal is to find a practical way to create a sense of safety that supports our staff and students’ wellbeing and an environment of positive connections within the school community.

Please note these changes do not affect the last day of school, which will remain May 27th, 2022, a full school day. Please note all other dates also remain unchanged to keep the commitment of graduation dates for our high school students.

On behalf of our Network staff, administration, and Board of Directors, we are grateful for your patience, understanding, and flexibility as we work to address these unique challenges and uncertain times. As always, we will communicate with you as soon as possible any decisions made regarding making up for inclement weather days over the winter. If you have any questions, please let us know at 314-588-8554.

In the meantime, I hope you and your families are staying safe and warm during this holiday season.
